Many Catholic schools have been sending home 'Don't Mess with Marriage' pamphlets with children. The contents of these pamphlets are nothing short of disgusting. 'Don't Mess with Marriage' discriminates against same sex marriages, as they are 'wrong' and marriage is only to be had between a man and a woman. To think that we are still living in a world with such discrimination is a horrific thought. Haven't we as a human race come further than this? Do basic human rights exist if we don't apply them to all people?
The fact that these pamphlets are being sent out for school children to see is a huge worry. Over 20% of the population identifies as LGBTQA+ many of whom are people still in school. This is a form of bullying inflicted upon the students by the school. This is morally wrong to do to anyone, let alone vulnerable school children. This must be put to a stop.
