In 2016, Indiana DNR moved two Hoosier recreation sites, Salamonie River and Frances Slocum, under the control of their Forestry Division to promote Indiana forests as a valuable crop instead of as public recreation sites.
This includes putting 31% of the trees in 121 acres of woodland in the middle of Salamonie up for bid for logging this year.
Let's restore Salamonie and Frances Slocum back to under the jurisdiction of State Parks and Reservoirs it was before, clean up the trails and promote its recreational value instead. Please sign and share!
