Cancel Planned Harry Potter Reboot Series

HBO Max plans to create a Harry Potter TV series to reboot the franchise, created by J.K. Rowling, who has been accused by many of being overtly and blatantly transphobic; Rowling would make millions off of this deal. Also troubling is that the series would be truer to the book series, which includes all of the magical human characters other than Hermione defending the practice of enslaving house elves (at one point Ron even says to Hermione "They [house elves] like being enslaved!" and other characters defend the practice using other arguments that humans have historically used to defend enslaving other humans) and a portrayal of goblins that overlaps with antisemitic tropes. In the film series based on the books, the visual look of the goblin characters is similar to antisemitic caricatures used by the Nazis, and there's even a Star of David design in the floor of the goblin bank Gringotts. HBO Max should cancel this planned series.
