As local residents and regular users of Range road 82, we have put together this petition to stop the unnecessary destruction and shock to our natural environment by the proposed rebuilding and relocation of Range road 82 through the wetland. Some of our reasons for petitioning against this proposed route are as follows:
- The wetland serves as a natural nesting site for thousands of waterfoul every year.
- Very high mitigation fees to Ducks Unlimited for the rights to cross the Wetland is an unnecessary expense to taxpayers in very uncertain economic times.
- There has been no attempt by elected officials to collaborate ideas with local residents to come up with an innovative approach to balance safety concerns with the preservation of our natural environment.
- The loss of habitat to other wildlife living in or in the imediate area surrounding this wetland such as, muskrats, weasles, deer, foxes, would be yet another blow to our natural ecosystem.
- In times where natural habitats are being wiped out at an alarming rate, it is imperative we take a stand against unnecessary destruction so our children have a vibrant natural environment in the future.
- The cost of the proposed route to taxpayers could be dropped significantly if Range Road 82 would be rebuilt in it's existing location, or in a less environmentally invasive route around the natural wetland.

Although a more well maintained road would be very nice for local residents, there are always options for less destructive and cost effective routes.
