Petition for Common Sense and Personal Responsibility

I, the undersigned, hereby vow to sign petitions responsibly, using good sense. By "responsibly" I mean that I shall only add my signature after performing the following steps:

1. I will read the petition fully and thoroughly, watching for lines and clauses that will earmark it as either genuine and worthy, or as another piece of sensationalist crap composed by someone trying to garner personal attention for the purpose of impressing a potential mate who doesn't know the person exists.

2. I will take a few moments to research the issue at hand, especially anything cited by the person who brought the issue forth. I will look for lies, misleading statements, and anything taken intentionally out of context by the petition's creator. In other words, I will try to keep from looking like an imbecile who signed something based on any "coolness factor" implied by the petition's title or surface subject matter.

Having completed the preceeding steps, I vow that should I choose to sign the petition, I will take a few moments to coherently compose any comment I may add to said petition. I will strive to add to the petition's gravity and contribute to its success--I will refrain from coming off as a complete and utter bandwagon-jumping moron and instead attempt to appear at least somewhat sane.
