Do not charge people for feeding power into the electrical grid

Namibia has a lot of sunshine, ideal for solar power.

The government encourages private households to produce electricity, since Namibia does import most of the electricity from South Africa, a country which already has "load shedding" where parts of the country are simply switched off.

The method of choice is to feed the access power generated during the day into the grid and use electricity from the grid when needed at night, since large battery solutions for houses are too expensive.

Unlike other energy providers in Namibia, the local provider at the coast, ERONGO RED charges a monthly feeding-in fee into to the power grid of N$420.-- which is equivalent to 330 kWh.

At the moment it does not make sense to put up solar panels and that should not be.

We demand that ERONGO RED drops the feeding-in fee!
