They Found Eight Puppies Locked in a Backyard Hell. Demand Justice.

Ten dogs were found living in backyard enclosures in Stratford, Connecticut, in conditions animal control officials called "horrific." Two were adults. Eight were puppies. Every one of them was suffering from medical conditions serious enough to need emergency veterinary care. A man now faces nine counts of animal cruelty and nine counts of confinement of dogs in connection with their condition.

Sign the petition urging the Fairfield Judicial District State's Attorney's Office to pursue a lifetime ban on animal ownership and mandatory mental health counseling in this case.

The dogs were pulled from the property and rushed to a veterinarian. Officials say they have a good prognosis, but getting there will take months of treatment, medications, follow-up care, and close monitoring. Eight puppies who should have been learning to play are instead learning to heal.

Someone who keeps ten dogs in suffering like this clearly isn't in a healthy place, and a charge alone won't change that. A lifetime ban on owning or caring for animals would make sure no other puppy ever ends up in the same backyard. Mandatory mental health counseling would address what led to this, so he gets real support and future animals are protected.

Ten dogs, eight of them tiny puppies, needed emergency care just to survive what they were living in. This cannot happen again.
