Do your part to help save our Ocean! Outlaw the use of plastic bags in Florida

Florida has the most miles of coast line in the United States.  We Floridians have the most to lose if we cant use our Ocean because of the plastics floating in our waters. Our Emerald colored water is becoming brown and full of toxins over time. The toxins and trash is not only affecting our beautiful water but its also killing the wildlife we love to watch! The birds and marine life are eating it because they think its food and its killing them.  We Floridians not only love to swim and fish in our Ocean but its nice to sit and watch the dolphins play too.

Im 10 years old and I hope that when I have children they will be able to love all the things about Florida that I love. If we keep allowing the use of plastic bags, my children may not get the chance to enjoy it, it will be yucky brown water. Just because you dont see it first hand, doesn't mean its not happening.

If we outlaw the use of plastic bags in Florida we can cut down on the amount of toxins that are going into our Ocean and help save the animals and beautiful water. Other states have already banned plastic bags or are charging shoppers for the bags.

Please help us make this change. Do your part, do your research, sign the petition.

Wow!!! I am beside myself with the awesome response to this petition. I cant wait to share it with Chase when he gets home from school! Chase did not think this would get much attention, because he is only 10 years old but he didn't want to stand back and do nothing. Thank you all for showing him and other children that they CAN make a difference.
