Stop President Trump’s use of blackmail to repeal the Affordable Care Act

President Donald Trump has decided if he can not win his battle to repeal The Affordable Care Act through the democratic process that plan that plain old fashioned blackmail will work. In the words of Don Corleone he intends “to make them an offer they can not refuse.”
In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal Trump has threatened to withhold payments legally available to Insurers worth seven billion dollars a year that help with the losses incurred providing treatment to very sick people in order to force Democrats to accept his plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act . Withholding these payments to insurance companies would decimate the insurance marketplace and ultimately result in millions of Americans losing their insurance.

This is wrong. It jeopardizes the lives of millions of people simply to allow the President to get his way and for what he sees as his political benefit. It takes politics to a new low.

We are asking as our representatives that you, regardless of your party, speak out against this idea. It is destructive and harmful and sets a bar for political discourse that no one should accept.
