Tell Scott Pruitt: Protect Science that Keeps Our Kids Safe

EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt is facing more than a dozen federal investigations into his questionable spending and ethics. But the biggest and most consequential scandal of all may be Pruitt's effort to censor science at EPA.

A new proposal compels EPA to subject high-quality research to extreme, unnecessary, and untenable levels of disclosure — but it also includes loopholes that would allow Pruitt's administration to exempt industry from having to disclose details of their own studies.

We call it the Censored Science Proposal. Join moms across the country in telling Pruitt that he can't erase the truth about pollution.
SUBJECT: I OPPOSE the proposed rule to limit the use of scientific studies in policy making.

Dear Administrator Pruitt,

As a parent, I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed rule, Strengthening Transparency in Regulatory Science.

This misleading rule requires that EPA consider only those scientific studies that use publicly available raw data. This would prevent EPA from using studies that are based on personal medical data, thereby eliminating some of the most important long-term epidemiological studies investigating the impacts of pollution on public health. This proposal would significantly limit the research and data that EPA can use to make informed policy decisions under major public health and environmental laws, including the Clean Air Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, and Toxic Substances Control Act.

American families depend on the EPA and high-quality science to protect us from the impacts of air pollution and toxic chemicals. This proposal puts that protection in jeopardy, placing the health of our children at risk.
