Police are appealing for information after 11-week-old Sparky was killed. He was reportedly hit with hammers and subsequently microwaved. This poor little puppy must have suffered a horrendous death and currently police are appealing for anyone who may have come across video footage of the event which was reportedly posted on social media. Please sign the petition for Justice for little Sparky, his killers should be locked away for a very long time to prevent things like this from ever happening again.
It's believed the incident happened on Saturday and was shared on the social media platform Snapchat.
Earlier officers urged anyone who may have seen posts about the incident on Snapchat or other networks to get in touch.
Police have said Snapchat will not be releasing data relating to the barbaric killing of the 11-week-old puppy due to data protection legislation and because the issue is classified as 'low-level crime'.
The remains were recovered from a bin and a post mortem is to take place to determine the cause of death.
Currently the maximum sentence for acts like this is a mere 5 years in prison, IF the perpetrator gets to court at all. These sentences need to be increased to deter this kind of behaviour in future.

the person who today appeared in court has been remanded in custody and the file has been sent to the public prosecution service who will, hopefully, build a strong case. One arrested person has tonight been charged with causing unnecessary suffering to an animal and will appear before magistrates tomorrow. Another has been released on bail pending enquiries. Snapchat understand the issue, but are tied to data protection rules and have, for the time being, unable to release the footage posted of the event. Due to the fact that suspected perpetrators can only be held for a short time before they have to be either charged or released, time is of the essence..
