Stop Telling Women in Developing Nations "Credit Denied"

Day in and day out, thousands of impoverished women across the developing world hear these words: Credit denied.

Imagine how it feels for a mother, trying to support her children, to walk into bank after bank in the town where she lives and get denied again and again.

In many developing countries, no one is willing to give women access to the small loans they need to start or build businesses, support their families and work their way out of poverty.

Now imagine what can happen if someone says "Yes" to that woman. She has a business plan. She is willing to work hard. All she needs is a $50 loan to put her idea in motion.

Together we can make this happen. Ask Secretary of State Clinton to give her full support to programs that say YES to women around the world seeking small business loans. We can empower these women to create a brighter future for their children.
Dear Secretary of State Clinton,

Day in day out, thousands of women loan applicants across the developing world hear these words: Credit denied.

Too many women in developing countries are denied access to financial services, from small business loans to even the most basic services like savings accounts. These women cut off from the financial world could, if given a chance, better support their families, start businesses and pull themselves of poverty.

Please, put your full support behind programs that increase financial literacy and give access to bank accounts, loans and other financial services to women in developing countries. Give them a chance now, and they can support their families, create opportunity, and help end poverty around the world.
