Demand that the Mayor of Ierapetra accepts responsibility for the care of abandoned and abused animals in his town

It is becoming apparent that cruelty to dogs and abandonment of puppies in and around Ierapetra is spiralling out of control. Takis Proestakis is doing everything he can, but he is one man and should not be expected to take on the responsibility for all the stray, abused and neglected dogs in Ierapetra and surrounding areas. We demand a neutering scheme be set up and owners of dogs be encouraged to participate and take responsibility for their own animals. Abandonment and cruelty of dogs should also be subjected to prosecution.
