Supporters of a brilliant new theater at Bainbridge High School are needed!
BISD completed a facility analysis of building conditions district-wide. The findings confirm that several buildings are in need of replacement. The school board is considering several options, one of which is replacement of the 40 + year old theater at Bainbridge High School. While this was State of Art when it was built, it is now a very outdated, inadequate theater, and needs to be retired!
The school board needs support of a new theater or it will be likely be considered as not wanted by the community. There will be a series of discussions regarding future bond decisions related to Blakely Elementary School, and the Bainbridge High School 100 Building - which includes the construction of a new theater.
Please support the educational and life-enhancing qualities of theater by encouraging BISD to replace the aging and failing theater that has been in use for 40+ years. Tell the School Board WE NEED A FULL STAGE THEATER THAT WILL ALLOW A GREATER VARIETY OF PRODUCTIONS FOR INSTRUMENTAL, PLAYS, MUSICALS, ETC. A theater that will encourage and welcome groups from the community to rent, creating income which will ultimately help contribute to offsetting the costs of a fabulous theater. Our community is short of quality stages, this is a needed venue. BHS is a fabulous school and its theater should be reflective of its commitment to students and the community.
Parents, Kids, Current Students, Graduates, Musicians, Dancers, Artists, Directors, Producers, Lovers of Performing Arts, etc., let your voice be heard in support of a most needed new theater. Encourage the construction of a new theater aimed to include use by a variety of performing art venues in our community.
