Show your support for the people of Afghanistan

Mercy Corps is committed to supporting the Afghan people, and we are deeply concerned about the escalating crisis in Afghanistan. The recent violence follows years of conflict, political instability, and economic turmoil that has led to more than 4 million Afghans being displaced from their homes, including 390,000 people newly displaced this year.

Even before the current crisis, hunger and malnutrition had reached alarming numbers, with more than 5 million people experiencing emergency levels of hunger. Nearly half of all children under five will be acutely malnourished this year. The number of Afghans in need of humanitarian assistance has nearly doubled since last year, reaching 18.4 million people — half the population.
