Tell your Senators: No War with Iran!

The coming days may be the most important moment yet in this fight to stop Trump's illegal war on Iran. We've been in the streets, in the halls of Congress, and in your inboxes through all of it — and we won't rest until the war is over. But what is coming now is the money vote. And if we lose this one, the war gets a green light that will make it much harder to stop this war.

The Trump administration is preparing a supplemental war funding request for Congress. But they are still figuring out just how many billions to ask for. Some officials say a supplemental request could come in around $50 billion. Pentagon officials told senators this week that just the first six days of the war cost $11.3 billion. Speaker Johnson asked about the size of the supplemental bill this week, simply shrugged and said: "We don't know the scope of it yet."

The human cost of this war is not abstract. The United Nations refugee agency — the UNHCR, the same body that coordinates disaster relief for displaced people around the world — reported just today that 3.2 million people inside Iran have been forced from their homes since the bombing began. That's not a projection. That's NOW. Add to that the over 1,300 civilians killed, including at least 200 children. This is what we are being asked to fund.

Please contact to your members of Congress right now and urge them to vote NO on any supplemental funding bill for the Iran war. Your voice matters — use it today!
To whom it may concern:

As your constituent, I urge you to vote NO on any supplemental funding request for the war in Iran. The Trump administration has launched this military assault in ways that violate U.S. and international law. Sending billions more doesn't protect our troops or make America safer. It funds an open-ended war that most Americans oppose — one that is already costing taxpayers close to a billion dollars a day.

Most Americans continue to oppose this war. By a 56%-44% margin, respondents in a recent NPR/PBS News/Marist poll said they oppose the military action. 86% of Democrats and 61% of independents are largely aligned with each other in opposition to the military action in Iran.

Innocent civilians, including the terrible example of the 165 schoolgirls killed by the U.S. bombing in Minab, are dying thanks to the war funding. The United Nations refugee agency — the UNHCR, the same body that coordinates disaster relief for displaced people around the world — reported just today that 3.2 million people inside Iran have been forced from their homes since the bombing began. Approving war funding — whatever conditions or add-ons come with it — is an implicit green light for a deadly war that was never lawfully authorized. It makes the conflict bigger and far less accountable.

Please hold the line and vote no on any supplemental funding for the war in Iran. A no vote isn't a vote against the military. It's a vote for Congress doing its job — for the Americans who don't want this war, and for the principle that no president gets to fight an open-ended war without being checked. The American people do not want or support this unauthorized and unconscionable war with Iran.
