EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced an effort to rewrite the Endangerment Finding: EPA's science-based determination that climate pollution threatens public health and welfare.
By weakening this bedrock finding, the Trump administration will put the EPA on course to eliminate critical limits on pollution. It's a reckless move that will be bad for our health and the planet.
But to make this climate nightmare a reality, they'll need to go through you first. Your voice can make all the difference. Submit a public comment and urge Administrator Zeldin to preserve EPA's Endangerment Finding.
Dear EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin,I write to express my deep concerns about the administration's proposal to repeal the Environmental Protection Agency's Endangerment Finding. I urge the EPA to withdraw this proposal, keep this rigorous finding in place and continue to set standards that limit health-harming climate pollution.
As the Endangerment Finding confirmed, greenhouse gas pollution poses grave and growing threats to our community's health, safety and economic well-being. These threats include health harms from worsening air quality, rising temperatures and increasingly frequent and severe extreme weather events, among many other well-documented impacts.
Our country is already contending with the devastating impacts of disasters fueled by climate pollution. Climate change is no longer just a future scientific prediction; it is here. We have experienced its impacts firsthand in our communities in the form of extreme heat advisories, devastating floods and destructive wildfires. Without the Endangerment Finding, our environment and our communities will be at even greater risk of these dangerous impacts.
Decades of progress to limit pollution that harms our health and wellbeing will be at risk of reversal if the administration moves forward with repealing this landmark determination. Please withdraw this reckless attempt to ignore science and the impacts of pollution on the communities across the country.
