Canadians Against Proroguing Parliament

PETITION
TO THE HOUSE OF COMMONS IN PARLIAMENT ASSEMBLED
We, the undersigned residents of Canada, draw the attention of the House to the following:
THAT incidents of Politically Motivated Prorogations of the House are becoming more and more frequent;
THAT each incident of Politically Motivated Prorogation of the House harms the public and goes against the spirit of Parliamentary Democracy; and
THAT there would be fewer such incidents if certain legislative measures were taken
THEREFORE, your petitioners call upon Parliament to enact legislation against Politically Motivated Prorogation of the House and make Prorogation subject to vote by sitting members of the House.
