Tell Huntington Woods Not to Prosecute Over Bush Height!

Many people heard about the case in Oak Park, Michigan, where prosecutor Eugene Lumberg brought misdemeanor charges against Julie Bass for having a vegetable garden in her front yard. Now, Lumberg is going after another citizen--this time, it's because his bushes are "too big".

The yard belongs to Gilbert Rist, who says that the plants have been there for six or seven years, but it wasn't an issue until last year. Even after cutting them down and getting them approved, the city is now saying they have to be removed.

At a time when people all over the country are losing their homes and being foreclosed upon, Huntington Woods is choosing to waste taxpayer money on this issue.

Tell Huntington Woods not to prosecute over bush height!

Dear Huntington Woods, Michigan --

Please do not prosecute the Rist family over bush height. It is an absolute waste of time and taxpayers' money to go through with this case over harmless plants. Put energy into real home issues -- foreclosures, families losing their homes, dropping property values -- and allow the plants to stay.
