Support Local Farming in Chatham Township

Whereas agriculture was an important basis for settling in colonial Chatham Township;

Whereas farming is an important tradition evidenced by a number of existing town properties that enjoy farmland assessment valuation;

Whereas locally grown, organic vegetables provide sustainable food for local residents;

Whereas locally grown produce eliminates long-distance, fuel-dependent transport, thereby providing  a more energy efficient  source of food;

Whereas farms provide not only vegetables, but provide vistas of open space;

We, the undersigned, fully support and endorse the Right to Farm of property owners in the Green Village section of Chatham Township
