Moreover, it has widespread support -- it is backed by a majority of Senators, Representatives, and the American people.
Despite its popularity, the public option is in real danger. In the Senate, it is being held hostage by the threat of the filibuster. Using this arcane rule, a minority of senators can delay debate indefinitely, preventing the public option from even getting a vote.
Urge the Senate to stand up for the people, not the insurance industry, and give the public option the up-or-down vote it deserves.
