Home Surgery for Onyx

We the undersigned request that Alberto Castenada & Maria Banuelos receive strong sentencing for home removal of their dog's leg.  Their dog, Onyx, was hit by a car & suffered several injuries.  Instead of taking Onyx to a vet or shelter for help, the couple took off Onyx's leg without medical instruments or anesthetic.  Later Onyx was found in the backyard tied to a post with an infected & maggot infested stump of a hind leg.  The animal control officers who found Onyx took him to a vet who performed extensive surgery.  Onyx is now recovering.

This case constitutes barbaric cruelty to an animal & those who are guilty of this type of crime should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
