mottagare: Ken Salazar, Secretary of the Interior of U.S.
Scientific evidence has overwhelmingly demonstrated that global warming is making polar ice melt more and more and polar bears are starving and drowning as a result. Pollution from oil and gas exploration contributes to this warming. Alaska's polar bears could become extinct by 2050 if present conditions continue. The U.S. Dept. of the Interior is responsible for upholding the Endangered Species Act. It may be too late to save the bears when they become officially endangered. Please act now to close polluter loopholes and stop new oil and gas exploration off the Alaska coast. Eventually we must look for renewable sources of energy. We should start to do the inevitable in regard to energy before it is too late for polar bears. To kill an entire species for temporary energy would be unconscienable.
Thank you in advance for your help in saving Alaskan polar bears.
