MCP Coverage For the Removal of Excess Skin Following Extreme Weight Loss

Following extreme weight loss which is evident in people like Kevin Carter and others, it is understandable that there would be large amounts of excess skin. This not only causes psychological issues but also chaffing, the break down of skin and other complications due to infections. These people are now healthier as a result of their strength determination, and lifestyle than they would be if the remained obese, thus eliminating the care which would be needed from complications of that condition. Let us join our strength with theirs and speak in unity to get this important issue dealt with.

We the undersigned are lobbying the Provincial Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to implement change in its MCP policy, to cover surgeries needed by persons with large amounts of excess skin due to extreme weight loss.
