National, staggered 4 day work week.

This will cut down approximately 1/6 of the nation's dependence on oil and gasoline.  This also will help prevent 1/6 of the global warming output.  Employees' work weeks should be staggered so that there will be less people on the road; cutting out traffic jams, thus decreasing road rage and potential accidents. The lower traffic volume will lead to even lower fuel and energy needs.  Less accidents will lead to lower costs to employees, thus lowering insurance policies.  The decreased road rage and stress will make happier people and reduce health risks, lowering health care claims and that will lead to less expensive health care policies and lower health costs to the employer.  Happier people leads to less crime and less need for police which saves  money for cities, government, etc..  Happier people make better employees and will increase productivity, creating more profits for employers. Less traffic congestion will lead to less time on the road and an increase in employees' productive time.  This will be a win win situation for the government, employers and employees.  This will cut budgets for many businesses so they won't have to lay off as many employees.  This will also bring families closer together as they will get a 3 day weekend.  Since healthcare costs and insurance premiums will be lowered and profits increased, then taxes can be lowered; thus all trickling down to the employee.  This will create a possibility for a 32 hour work week as well, because we won’t need such high incomes if our taxes, fuel, insurance and healthcare costs go down.  Everyone is happy!
