As Many as 10.000 bears are still kept in tiny cages without exercise or proper food in China. They have catheters in their sides which take the bile from them, this is processed and sold for a high price to the Chinese people. They believe it will keep them in good health, Like many other animal parts.
Of course many people think this is wrong and say so, the trouble is the Chinese government will not ban this unconscionably cruel act.
As people are educated about the cruelty to animals, they do try to stop it, but if the peoples leaders do not act, some people think it is okay to kill or harm animals to improve their health!
Many countries are spreading the word about these bears, and much is being done, but i believe a great step forward would be to get the Chinese government to ban companies from taking bear bile.
We the undersigned would be most grateful to the Chinese government if they would ban all companies from keeping and taking bile from bears in captivity. We are sure you are aware of the growing concern for bears from many countries and organisations around the world. If you make the decision to ban this cruel and unnecessary practise, we are sure the people of your country and the world will thank you for stopping the suffering these bears are going through.
There are synthetic alternatives available now, so the bears could be given to organisations that would care for them.
