stop the slaughtering of horses in the United States

It is animal abuse to slaughter a horse for food.
This creature is magnificent and even the thought is thoroughly disgusting.
The killing of animals is inhumane and this is being done only to profit man and his pocketbook.
Why don't human beings learn how to obtain food from other sources for protein.
Rather than take an innocent animal and cruelly kill them.
What have human beings in this country come to.
And, where are the animal rights activists in all of this.
