A month ago a dear friend was taken from us, by someone who made the choice to drink and drive. Unfortunately this happens too often, people drink and have no regards for others lives, get behind wheels and cause deadly accidents. In 2014, as of June 17th the total deaths caused by drunk drivers numbers 15533 innocents lives lost. We are talking about someones mom, dad, brother, sister, child, best friend was killed, violently, by someone who knowing that drinking and driving is ilegal still made the choice to do so.
The law has not really been fair to the family of the victims, because although this individuals might go to jail and serve some time, due to the jails being over populated they get out faster than expected, and if they have good behavior while in jail that reduces their sentence as well. I believe it's time for this to stop, a drunk driver, is a cold hearted criminal, his weapon of choice is a car, this type of individual deserve much more than a slap on the wrist and an increase to their insurance policy, they deserve death penalty.
If you have not been afected by a drunk driver you probably know someone who has, the pain of losing a family member is excrutiating, the pain of losing them by a cold hearted killer is even worse, specially knowing this killer might walk away and live their lives as if nothing would of happened. Lets put an end to this, lets make drunk drivers that kill other pay with their lives.
