Hunting for fur-bearing animals was especially developed in North America since the beginning of its development by Europeans and to the XIX century, as the fur was one of the main subjects of trade and exports.
Although the hunting of fur-bearing animals is considered a profession, almost everyone of trappers that was not the only source of income. This is due to competition from domestic animals and rare animal with a valuable fur. Many species of animals have been almost completely wiped out, which is why today hunting them is strictly prohibited. This applies especially to predatory animals, such as regular and bobcat, whose population has dropped so much that disturbed the natural balance of predators and game.
