Petition for a Smoke-Free Campus

Tobacco is the leading cause of preventable death in America, taking over 400,000 lives every year. over 50,000 of those lives are from second-hand smoke.
the first step to a more safe, productive learning environment is ensuring that those in the environment are free of discomfort and health hazards. we, the undersigned, believe that health is just as important as higher education. we desire that those in authority will take the proper steps to make their campuses smoke-free, giving everyone the right to clean air. 
we, the undersigned, support change in policy that would enable students, employees, and visitors alike, to breathe air free of carcinogens and other toxic chemicals found in cigarette smoke.
