Veterans day off work

Veterans Day is once a year and most companies want to honor the Veterans that they have working for them in some small way. which is nice but for the most part it makes them feel like the did something good, the Veterans really get nothing for it! So since Veterans Day is a National holiday, why don't the Veterans have the the day off work? All Military and all government offices are closed and have the day off work with pay!!! Just because a Veteran no longer serves actively, reserve status, Guard or is retired doesn't mean we shouldn't still honor them by also giving them a paid holiday! Maybe this should be taken to Congress and the White House???? Honor your Veterans the right way, give them the day they deserve, a day off!!!! Make Veterans Day a true National Holiday for the ones who need it the most!!!!!
