Proposal for worldwide ocean reserves.

  • av: D.Baker

The environmental organization Greenpeace, has established a plan to set aside 40% of the worlds oceans as marine reserves/wildlife protected areas, where fish and other ocean life can live and breed without disturbance from reckless industrial and pirate fishing which now has become a lawless worldwide plague upon our oceans.

Many scientists believe the collapse of life in the world's oceans is imminent if some attempt by all nations is not made soon to stop overfishing.

While 13% of the world's land area is set aside for protection from commercial exploitation and poaching etc. only 1/2 of 1 percent of the world's oceans are.

The protection and managememt of the world's oceans has been long overlooked on the assumption that the oceans are so vast as to be inexhaustable....now we are finding out otherwise as fisheries worldwide continue to collapse.

Please sign this petition if you support Greenpeace's plan to set aside 40% of the world's oceans as wildlife reserves.

Educate yourself on the destruction now being done to the world's oceans and inform your friends and families.....life on earth depends on it......depends on you.
