Dairy Queen needs to be more transparent. They are a private company, so they do not feel shareholder pressure for ethical behavior as many public companies do, but that is not an excuse for lacking a visible strategy for corporate social responsibility. This petition calls on them to publish a corporate social responsibility/sustainability report.
Consumers nowadays care about their food. Dairy Queen needs to disclose their standards for slaughter guidelines in the meat they acquire, as well as develop a plan for improving other areas corporate behavior. To the general public, it would appear that DQ has only one philanthropy, Children's Miracle Network. What is DQ doing to reduce waste, conserve energy, simplify supply chains, etc.? These can be profitable endeavors if pursued correctly as demonstrated by companies such as Interface Inc. Please join us in the 21st century Dairy Queen as a socially responsible company.
