Ban single use plastic bags at the checkout & in produce department now!!!

Plastics have taken over the world! They are detrimental to the planet and ALL life which makes them bad for mankind! The time to ban single use plastic bags is NOW! California & Oregon have passed similar legislation, but time is running out on our environment! Retailers continue to giveaway billions of tons of free single use plastic bags everyday! While lawmakers still debate over global warming, ONE MILLION tons of single use plastic bags are added to our landfills daily! That's not counting the 'floaters' we all see in trees, waterways, & on our roadways floating in the wind!
This ban is simple: no more single use plastic bags! Consumers are urged to bring their own bags from home, ask for paper bags or to purchase an alternate brand of bag that can be reused multiple times.
A brand of sturdier, reusable & hand washable plastic bags will be available at all retailers for consumers to purchase at checkout. Any retailer (s) found in violation or non compliance will be fined. It is the petitioner's goal to see that all monies collected from this violation fund will help fund each state's school breakfast, lunch & snack programs for needy children.
