K9 officers should be armed with some other nonleathal method such as a tranquilizer gun. Verses a gun loaded with bullets that can often be deadly! In the state of Georgia, K9 officers are only issued 2 forms of defense. That is their gun and canine! That's it! A general road officer is also issued 2 if not 3 methods of defense. They consist of a gun, a tazor/stun gun and pepper spray.
May 06, 2014 my beloved pit bull was viciously killed, by a k9 officer, with a single bullet straight to his head! Had this officer been issued another form of pertection, I believe whole heartedly that my sweet boy, Narley would still be alive today.
It makes no sense to me why our departments refuse to issue another form of protection to k9 enforcement! Please support me and help spread the word so that no other family will have to endure this type of heart break and so that no other innocent dog will have to become a victim to such a brute ending.
