Ghana must ban single use plastic bags.

Ghana's capital city and beaches are drowning in filth from the excessive use and indescrimnate disposure of plastic bags. Many countries have banned or surcharged the use of this product. The health and environmental consequences far exceed any perceived convenience offered by the plastics. It is time to ban the importation and manufacture of these products.
We have abundant sources of reusable or biodegradable substitutes that can offer more opportunities for local industries to fill the gap.
