PETA, or People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, killed more than 95% of the pets in its care in 2011. Fifteen years’ worth of similar records shows that since 1998, PETA has killed more than 27,000 animals at its headquarters in Norfolk,Virginia. PETA should practice what they preach and not kill animals. How are we supposed to trust the main organization that enforces animal rights? These accounts were obtained from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and released online by the Center for Consumer Freedom, a non-profit organization that runs online campaigns targeting groups that oppose food producer companies. I say that Ingrid Newkirk and Alex Pacheco should admit to the public what they are secretly doing or simply stop their whole operation so no one else has to get scammed.
When Amanda Schinke, a spokesperson for PETA was contacted by The Atlantic to explain these crazy numbers, she explained how "euthanasia is a product of love for animals who have no one to love them." She called their killing a "tragic reality". PETA should openly admit to killing animals, whether they do it with good intentions or bad. The public has the right to know the true ethics of this organization. Millions of people put their trust into this company without even knowing they are being misled. PETA is against animal abuse, yet they are secretly killing animals themselves!
