The World's Most Polluted City

Why is it important?

Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia is a city of 1.3 million people and the coldest capital city in the world. However, this year every metropolitan resident is about to inhale 183 kilograms of toxins, through the air.

Just 2 years ago Ulaan Baatar was the second most polluted city in the world. Now, according to Forbes Magazine, it is the MOST polluted city in the world with pollution levels double that of the second most polluted city in the world. That, is a crime, both environmental and against humanity.

Levels of pollutants exceed 278ppm. One hundred times higher than the 2.7ppm suggested by W.H.O. for human safety.

2/5 or 40% of first pregnancies spontaneously abort due to the high levels of pollution. Those babies that make it have high blood pressure, and respiratory problems. We do not know what other health issues await them in their lives.

The major cause of death in Ulaan Baatar is liver cancer. Very possibly from the high levels of Dioxins and airborne other pollutants.

Mongolia's countryside, for the most part, is pristine and organic, yet Ulaan Baatar's high pollution levels have raised Mongolia to being the most polluted country in the world.
