If Nominees Can’t Admit Trump Lost in 2020, They Shouldn’t Be Confirmed.

It happened again. Jay Clayton, Trump's nominee for director of national intelligence, wouldn't answer a simple question posed by multiple senators: Did Joe Biden beat Trump in 2020?

Lots of hemming and hawing and word salad, but no actual answer.

The question should have been easy. Biden beat Trump. But Trump has spent so much time denying it and spinning yarns made of complete bullcrap that nearly every one of his nominees is afraid to tell the truth.

This isn't just normal jackassery. It's jackassery that has already done great damage to our democracy and undermined trust in our elections and democratic institutions. It has also given morons across the nation license to believe really stupid things and do terrible things.

There is no way in hell the Senate should put even more of these cowards in positions of power.
