Citizens' Climate Initiative: What We Can ALL do for the Climate

Imagine if we, the citizens of the world were to act as though leaders in the United States had never pulled out of the Paris Agreement. Fundamentally the Paris agreement is just a document, just because the current administration decided to withdraw from it does not mean that we can't aim to meet those propositions in spite of that fact. We can join together, as a citizens coalition working with companies to meet emissions reductions targets, because as far as I am concerned, Paris is still on, and Americans as well as the citizens of our world have every right to beautiful national parks, protected lands, clean air, water, soil and a stable climate; all the while having the economy grow and blossom, generate jobs and continue progressing in the right direction.

When there is a balance between economic growth and ecological sustainability, we all find that something beautiful develops, prosperity. It's not a big secret that the key to wellness is balance, it's just the methods of achieving that balance is what many people can't seem to find. Which is what this petition aims to do, to educate, empower and embolden; namely those who feel powerless and are unsure of ways which they can contribute to the solution that we all want to see. A commitment and a promise are very valuable, agreements and emissions targets on a large scale are incredibly important, but from the ground up we must all contribute, below I have compiled a list of ways in which you personally can make a real difference and by sharing this petition, you are helping to inform others of ways in which they can contribute too. Lets inspire people who are concerned and disgruntled about the inaction and regression on climate solutions as of late, to sign this petition and send it to as many people as possible; so that we can see some more positivity and especially proactivity on climate action.


-Ask companies that you support, brands that you buy from, which may be receptive to offsetting their yearly emissions or buying RECs. Keep out the dogma though, it helps keeps ears and especially minds, open.

-Write a letter to your legislators, local and state and even federal. It's always a good idea to start out small and work your way up though, the best way to get more people on your side is to appeal to how it might benefit them, which is another great way to get people to listen.
