Ban the gifting of live animals in schools and other public places in Cyprus

Live chicks and other live animals are being handed out as "Gifts" via various sources such as schools, pet stores, online forums/e-shops, raffles, etc., to minors who are not experienced enough to deal with them and are mostly given without the parent's consent! It is wrong for educators to be teaching the young in their care that any animal can be "given" freely for any purpose, with no thought to it's future care or health. Most "gifted" animals live a matter of weeks, days and sadly sometimes just a few hours. This practice must cease for the sake of the animals and our future generation's well-being. Educators and other event organizers/shop owners etc., must find other ways to engage children in festive events and in particular Easter.
