An Animal's Life Should Be Worth More Than Garbage

Recently, a Nova Scotian took his dog into the woods, shot the dog and left them there. No charges are being laid against this Yarmouth County man, as current animal welfare laws in Nova Scotia allow people to take their pets into the woods, shoot them and leave them there without experiencing any type of consequence. No fines. No jail time. Nothing.

Apparently the life of an animal in Nova Scotia is worth less than garbage, as an individual caught illegally dumping garbage is subject to up to $2000 in fines.

If you feel this is wrong, encourage our government to include and update acceptable euthanasia practices in upcoming legislative changes. Help us tell the Nova Scotia government that living, breathing animals deserve better than the treatment they are currently receiving, that they deserve to be treated better than garbage.

Thank you so much for taking the time to sign this petition. A lot of people signed in the first week but interest has now tapered off.

If you would kindly share our petition on any social media platforms you are involved with, it would be greatly appreciated. The sooner we reach 1000 signatures the sooner we can get these animal welfare laws changed.

Thanks again!

Peace and take care,
Regan McPhee :)
