Please allow back yard chckens in Roanoke Rapids, N.C.

I believe chickens can be in the city limits, the city ordinance should be changed to allow a small number of back yard chickens, alot of major cities are allowing the change with very good success even right here in our own state, Raleigh, Chapel Hill & Durham that's just to name a few, chickens are the perfect pet, they are quiet, produce eggs which are far better than store bought, they are superior at insect control....no ticks! and the best fertilizer for gardens. a properly cleaned & maintained  coop poses no sanitation risks. By amending the city ordinance to allow residents to keep a limited number of chickens in the city of Roanoke Rapids will encourage stewardship in the environment and food production on a household scale, now of course there should be rules and possibly permits.     Thank you  for reading my petition.
