Justice for Chicago Dog Shot by Police!

While out with his son on Friday, May 17, an off-duty police officer shot and killed his neighbor's four-year-old dog, a pit bull named Maximus. The police officer claimed that the dog charged at his son, but the dog's owner doesn't believe the story. According to the owner, "He would sit in the yard and listen to the birds. He didn't even bark. He never growled. He was the biggest baby."

Neighbors support the owner's side of the story. According to them, the officer's son was almost a block away from the dog during the shooting, and none of them heard barking.

The owner and her young daughter are devastated about the senseless death of their beloved pet. Please sign the petition to call for a full investigation into the shooting, and to penalize the officer if he is found to have abused his position.
