Yes, there has been a ban on the sale on cosmetics sold in the UK that have been tested on animals. This does not mean the ban is on drugs or household products.
Any new drug HAS to be tested on TWO live mammals.. WHY IS THIS FAIR?? Animals have got to suffer in the MILLIONS (4 million in the UK 2012) - so that we can get better or just clean our houses? We all know if we get bleach in our eyes it's going to sting!
It's a long shot, people are selfish to their own needs and always have been, but why should we continue to test drugs on animals too? We apparently share our genes with mice, so therefore they must suffer, terrified in captivity? They shall experience pain for the whole of their lives and know no normality. 74% of animal tests in the UK 2012 were on mice.
The success rate for predicting negative side effects from experiments is between 5-25%.. even if it were 100, would it make it any better? This behaviour is savage and grotesque!
I have only outlined a tiny fraction of the atrocities, but we all know there is a lot to go into when in comes to this horrific subject.
