While the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good commanded the nation's attention for the brutal and very public nature of their killings, ICE's death toll has only continued to grow behind the scenes.

So far this year, 17 people have died in ICE's gulags, and 40 have died since the start of Trump's second term – and considering the horrifying reports of the inhumane conditions that inmates are subjected to, it's surprising the death toll isn't even higher.

Hold ICE leaders accountable for all the people who die in their prisons!

The ACLU reports that "individuals have died from homicide, untreated infections, and delayed emergency care. In many cases advocates and medical experts have found these deaths to be preventable. For example, a tooth infection was left untreated until it turned septic, or a chronic condition was ignored until it led to organ failure."

Moldy food. Undrinkable water. Disgusting, piss-soaked floors and overflowing toilets. Blinding lights that prevent anyone from sleeping properly. People being denied medical care left and right. It's beyond monstrous the way that these innocent people are being treated by the Trump administration – and some of them are even dying because of it.

Justice must be served and those in charge held accountable for these tragic, preventable deaths.

Hold ICE leaders accountable for all the people who die in their prisons!
