Support Recreational Options at Little Wall Lake

We believe that Little Wall Lake in Hamilton County needs to be maintained at a proper, adequate water level to support the recreational needs of the visitors to the campground and the users of the lake. Conditions at this lake in North Central Iowa are important to many; area residents and visitors use the lake for fishing, swimming, water skiing, boating, tubing, snowmobiling and hunting of waterfowl. Additionally, the park is used for picnicking, camping, hiking, hunting and many other outdoor activities.

The local DNR and the Board of County Supervisors need to treat this natural lake as an important resource and one of the county’s valuable assets. The campground provides recreational spots for 130 campers and generates money for the county as well as the local economy. Soon, the completion of the newly built cabins will generate additional interest in the lake area. Maintenance of the lake over time guarantees it will be a treasure for years to come.

We request that the Department of Natural Resources assure that the lake, its birds, animals and fish are given the attention and the support needed to guarantee this area will be a treasure for years to come. We request that the DNR support these recreational options in central Iowa by maintaining water levels at beautiful Little Wall Lake.
