Keep Spokane water Flouride Free

On Monday, September 14, 2020, Spokane City Council voted, not the affected public, to add Flouride to its public drinking water.
If they had voted no they would have missed out on a $4 million dollar grant that now will have to be refunded if flouride is not added before 2023.
$4 million would lessen some of the burden of the problems with homelessness, mental health care, neigborhood repairs, etc, etc.
Nope. It can only be used to build the system that puts the chemical in the water. The estimate is a total of $6 million. Who is going to cover the extra $2 million when budgets are being cut closing many programs? The taxpayers, home owners, consumers of nonfood items, gas car drivers, and I can assure you, programs relying on state funding. A little bit here a little bit there.
If there is no money for shelters or treatment for the mentally ill, there shouldn't be money for a unnecessary chemical in my drinking water.
Give the grant back, stop the chemicals, and start funding free or reduced public dentistry!
