Urge Congress to Add the Sage Grouse to Endangered List

The Environment Protection Agency created the Endangered Species Act of 1973 that was signed by President Rich M. Nixon. Endangerment of animals and environmental concerns has been a bipartisan issue. The Sage Grouse is a bird that could be described as a spotted owl or bobwhite quail, with a long, pointed tail and legs. Feathers covered the bird all the way to its toes.

This fluffy creature with a buffy chest and a chicken-like demeanor, more proud, and was definitely among many other beings that were in fear of endangerment and extinction. President of the Bipartisan Policy Center commented on concerns regarding placing the Sage Grouse on the endangered list. He states that “There’s a remarkable amount of national focus on the sage grouse. The impacts of this listing would be broader, geographically, than any other endangered species that the government has ever listed. It covers 150 million acres of land, which is a lot of land, the whole western United States. A third of the country would be affected.”

This appears to be a complex issue and is disturbing that this endangered bird would not be added to the Endangered List as proposed by government officials and in accordance with the military. A Spokesman for the House of Armed Services proclaims that “while it is true that military branches can be disrupted by such designations — the protection of the red-cockaded woodpecker once brought training operations to a halt at Fort Bragg in North Carolina — the military has made no request concerning the sage grouse. We are asking for your help by signing and sharing of this petition so that we can urge Congress to add the Safe Grouse to the endangered list in an attempt to protect its existence.

Congressional House of Representatives – We urge you to take the extreme necessary steps to add the Sage Grouse to the Endangered Species Act. This bird is in dire fear of extinction and we are asking that this animal be protected along with all others listed in this Act.
