Urge Bath & Body Works to stop using Anti-Bacterial Agents

The use of triclosan (the anti-bacterial agent) in soaps over the years, has negatively effected the environment. A recent study by the University of Minnesota found traces of triclosan in most Minnesota lakes. The levels have been increasing steadily over the past 20 years. Even worse, when the chemical combines with chlorine, dioxins, which are known carcinogens, are formed. Another study in Michigan showed that 75 percent of people, over the age of five, have triclosan in their urine.

Bath and Body works adds Triclosan to their hand soaps to “kill germs." In reality, having the ingredient in soap adds no value, is very bad for the environment, and potentially harmful to your health.

Urge Bath & Body Works CEO, Nick Coe, to stop using triclosan in their soaps by signing this petition.
